Deborah, founder of local art studio Talking Textiles, pays homage to multicultural prints, traditional architecture and other elements unique to the island of Singapore in a range of designs that evoke the old world glamour of local landmarks like the iconic Raffles Hotel. The SynerG x Talking Textiles Collection features six distinct designs that incorporate cultural motifs such as Chinese silks and Indian sari’s interpreted through the lens of Deborah’s South African roots. This exclusive collection is part of SynerG’s partnership with local artists to bring art into everyday spaces, especially in homes, where any plain glass area can be transformed into a canvas for personal expression and functional areas double as design features in space-scarce apartments. This is also where form meets function, with the glass backsplash's strength and its heat- and grime-resistant properties making it easy to clean, while its modern, sophisticated aesthetic transforms the look and feel of a standard kitchen. Most designs are also available in a range of soothing, pastel colours that are on trend and would add a touch of sophistication to any home. About the Designs 1. Traveller’s Palm The Traveller's Palm design was inspired by the lush plants that surround the Raffles Hotel. The growing branches of this fan-shaped palm is said to “travel” depending on the direction of the sun, with each new branch turning either toward or away from the sun, hence its name. 2. Long Bar Fan The Long Bar Fan design was inspired by the ceiling fans found at the Raffles Hotel's famous Long Bar. 3. Bamboo The Bamboo design is reminiscent of Chinese ink paintings. 4. Sari Wave This design was inspired by the motifs used in sari fabric. 5. Dotted Wave The dotted wave design was inspired by the inky dots used in some batik designs. 6. Singapore Treasures The most artistic design of the lot, the Singapore Treasures backsplash features elements that hark back to the Straits Settlements, a group of British territories in Southeast Asia. Singapore became part of the Straits Settlements in 1826, before it was named a Crown colony in 1867. Singapore grew exponentially during this time, establishing itself as an important trading post and welcoming an influx of immigrants from all over the world seeking a brighter future. The Straits Settlements stamp in this artwork is based on an actual postage stamp in circulation from 1937 to 1941. Featuring King George VI, this is the last stamp series of the Straits Settlements. The abstract blue, watery splashes of ink in the backsplash design evoke the sea and the surrounding waters, which made Singapore flourish as an island entrepôt in the early days. The story of European explorers arriving on the tropical island of Singapore with all its beautiful flora and fauna is expressed through this artwork. At Synergraphic, we believe that every piece of glass can be given a second lease of life. Go Green Policy Green Policy Heritage Products & Services Enquire Capabilities Home / About Us / Go Green Policy At Synergraphic, we believe that every piece of glass can be given a second lease of life. GREEN POLICY In the supply trade of flat glass for the building industry, an estimated 10 to 25% of glass typically goes to waste as sheets of glass have to be cut to size for the various applications in interior or architectural spaces. At Synergraphic, we endeavour to reduce this waste by keeping the off-cuts of sheets, and then turning them into products of value. We have a program that enables our team of in-house and collaborating artists and designers to give glass new life through applying various glass techniques. For example, glass from our patterned glass collections are slumped in our kiln into other forms, turning them into functional yet beautiful items such as candle holders and platters. Antique mirrors are also re-purposed into precious coasters. Plain glass is layered into mysterious sculptures. We also maintain limited stock levels and process our orders as they come so as to reduce waste. We are currently seeking to create an eco-system and connect with more partners who can ensure that higher levels of our glass (or yours) can be re-purposed into beautiful objects. If this resonates with you and you are seeking a partner in this mission, do reach out to us! greenPolicy OUR PRODUCTS View All Products Finishes Customisable antique, sandcarved, mirror, gilded, kilnformed glass finishes Glass Elements Customisable sculptural elements to create functional or artistic forms Glass Interiors Meticulously designed and artfully handcrafted elements for superb interiors Art Decorative patterns and textures for privacy and lighting control

- Synergraphic X Gin&G : Chance | Synergraphic Design
CHANCE CHANCE CHANCE CHANCE Synergraphic x Gin&G In Chance, New Possibilities Unfold Introducing CHANCE: A Glass Light Sculpture by Gin&G in Collaboration with Synergraphic Design CHANCE is a glass light sculpture constructed from layers of sheet glass off-cuts, designed by Gin&G and fabricated in collaboration with the local glass company Synergraphic Design. The light sculpture was initially commissioned for FURA, a plant-forward restaurant and bar that reimagines the future of food sustainability, and which spatial interiors were designed by Gin&G. FURA’s ethos of partnering with local food supply vendors to promote sustainability in food practices inspired Gin&G to extend this vision into the design of the interiors and their objects. Gin&G reached out to industry partners, the regular suppliers of various building materials, and invited them to collaborate in reimagining off-cuts as a constructive material. Get a quote or request consultation: Submit Thanks for submitting! In partnership with Synergraphic Design, a company also dedicated to promoting sustainability through innovative glass craftsmanship, Gin&G sourced sheet glass waste from construction projects that would otherwise end up in landfill. Synergraphic supplied these glass off-cuts, which were then repurposed, cut into organic geometric shapes, and layered together – giving them new life as beautiful light sculptures. The name CHANCE reflects the unpredictability of each light sculpture’s composition, as the configuration of each piece results from a combination of uncontrollable factors. The type of available off-cut glass material varies at the time of fabrication, as do the unique permutations of the glass layers, which means that each light sculpture is uniquely different and entirely shaped by 'chance'. CHANCE reimagines the perception of off-cut materials and celebrates their potential to be transformed into objects of beauty and meaning. Beyond its prototype debut at FURA, CHANCE has been showcased at EMERGE@FIND, a design fair curated by Design Anthology in 2023, and at the Design Singapore Showcase at BOUTIQUES The Gifting Edition in 2024. About Gin&G Gin&G is a Singapore-based design firm focused on creating spaces imbued with beauty and meaning, spanning object design, residential, and commercial interiors. Co-founded by architects Georgina Foo and Genevieve Ang, the practice prioritizes timeless, story-rich design. Gin&G is not only a design firm but a research lab where sustainability takes shape through material exploration and creative reuse. Gin&G’s prototyping and cross-disciplinary collaborations yield designs that engage deeply with the world of sustainable design. Gin&G’s vision for CHANCE — crafted from glass offcuts and celebrated for its unpredictable uniqueness — exemplifies their commitment to fostering industry dialogue on sustainability and material transformation. About Synergraphic Design Synergraphic Design is a premier art and design studio that provides interior and architectural glass solutions, bespoke lighting, installations, sculptures, and murals for both indoor and outdoor spaces. Since its founding in 1986, Synergraphic has crafted iconic glass features worldwide, including the St. Regis Singapore and Partners Monument at Taipei 101. Known for its innovative techniques in hot, warm, and cold glasswork, Synergraphic collaborates with designers and architects to create enduring, concept-driven works that align with clients' visions. Driven by a mission to inspire wonder through thoughtful, beautiful glass creations, Synergraphic shares a commitment to environmental mindfulness. The company’s collaboration with Gin&G on CHANCE reflects this dedication, reimagining glass off-cuts as a valuable resource in art and design.

- FAQ | Synergraphic Design Pte Ltd
Addressing myths & misconceptions about glass. Artisan glass Frequently Asked Questions Addressing myths & misconceptions about glass The Material Durability & Practicability Installation Contact Us Cost Contact / FAQ THE MATERIAL What is printed glass? We use a UV digital printing process to print our graphics onto glass. The premium quality inks are german-made UV inks that have high fade resistance and are cured using UV light during the printing process. How can decorative glass be used on 3D surfaces such as curved structures and sculptures? Glass can be bent or molded to various forms, from gentle curves and organic shapes to precise radiuses for cladding columns. What are the possibilities when working with decorative glass? Can i customize more than clear and frosted panels? The possibilities are limitless; it boils down to the imagination of the designer. Our team has been working with glass for more than 30 years now and have immense collective knowledge on the breadth of glassworking techniques available to us including cold, warm, hot, traditional and modern processes. By remaining updated on the latest technologies in glassworking, we are able to stay at the front of innovation to achieve all kinds of design and budget considerations. There is much more to glass than it being clear or frosted; you can create endless graphics, textures and finishes using single or combined processes. theMaterial DURABILITY & PRACTICABILITY Isn’t glass easily breakable and difficult to maintain? Glass is by nature fragile. However there are ways to make it into a safety glass when used for interiors and facades. If safety is a primary concern, then the use of tempered glass is recommended. Laminated glass also provides safety and security because of an interlayer that prevents shattering, but is also prone to cracking. 1. Tempered Glass 2. Laminated Glass Laminated glass is a type of safety glass that holds together when shattered. In the event of breaking, it is held in place by the interlayer known as ethylene-vinyl acetate, which is sandwiched between two layers of glass. durability&Practicability INSTALLATION How will you mount glass onto a kitchen wall? A premium construction adhesive is used to bond the glass panel onto the surface of the wall. Such adhesive is high in bonding strength and water resistant and will enable the glass to be permanently fixed onto the wall. installation COST Isn’t creative artglass design expensive? Art glass ranges dramatically in techniques used and complexity of design and some are more affordable than others. For example, glass blowing, kilnforming and sandcarving are glassworking techniques that require the skill of the artisan and cannot be replaced by a machine. On the other hand, advancements in technology have enabled graphics to be applied more affordably onto glass with the use of digital printing. Having all these tools at our disposal, working with glass for more than 30 years, whilst having a keen understanding of your design intent, we are able to confidently select finishes or create glass artworks at the budget you are looking at. What is the price of glass in comparison to other materials such as acrylic? / Can I use acrylic instead of glass? Contrary to popular belief, glass is often more affordable and durable than acrylic, especially when comparing full-sized panels of higher thicknesses. Glass is more durable in the sense that its stiff properties does not allow it to warp, while acrylic has a high potential to attract dust and is prone to scratches. cost
